MORIN
INTERNET POLICY
Acceptable use of Computers
New technologies are shifting the ways that information may
be accessed, communicated and transferred. Those changes
may also alter instruction and student learning. Morin
School is now able to offer students access to the electronic
information highway and the Internet. Since students will
be able to use the Internet at school, we have developed
some guidelines that need to be followed in order to prevent
any problems. Please read through these guidelines with
your child and sign the Student Agreement and Parent Permission
form. When the signed form is returned to school, your
child will be allowed to access the Internet.
Rules and Responsibilities
Students are responsible for good behavior on school computer
networks just as they are in a classroom or on the playground.
Communications on the network are often public in nature.
General school rules for behavior and communications apply.
Internet
is provided for students to conduct research and communicate
with others in relation to schoolwork. All use of electronic
networks shall be consistent with the District's
goal of promoting educational excellence by facilitating
resource sharing, innovation, and communication. Access to
network services is given to students who agree to act in
a considerate and responsible manner. Parent permission is
required.
Access
to the district's electronic networks must
be: (a) for the purpose of education or research and consistent
with the educational objectives of the district; or (b) for
legitimate business use.
Access is a privilege, not a right. Therefore, based upon
the acceptable use guidelines outlined in this document,
the system administrators may close an account at any time.
The administration, faculty, and staff of Morin School may
deny, revoke or suspend specific user accounts.
