BUILDING & PLAYGROUND
Students are not to go off the school grounds without the
permission of the teacher or teachers' aide in charge.
The patio can be used as a play area. However, the students
are not to use balls, stones, sticks, or any other play equipment
that could result in broken glass from the windows. This
policy is to prevent any accident that might occur.
Recess and scheduled playtime is offered to give the students
time to run, play, and exercise. Students are asked to go
outside for fresh air unless the teacher or teachers' aide
in charge feels the weather is not accommodating for good
health. The students that remain in the building at these
times are asked to comply with the instructions of the teacher
in charge of the school building.
The playground will be supervised by authorized personnel
between the hours of 7:50 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Due to depreciation and destruction of school property while
school is not in session evenings and weekends, the following
rule will apply:
"No
one is allowed on or about the school grounds during
hours when school is not in session. This prohibits
playing on the playground equipment, riding bicycles,
scooters, small cars, motorcycles, and horses on the
walks around the school building. Cars are not to be
in the driveways, roads, or any part of the school
grounds. However, children under the supervision of a
parent can use the playground equipment after 4:30 p.m.
or on conference days if a parent is conferencing with
a teacher."
Authorized groups that meet in the school are exempt from
the above regulation during their meeting hours. Leaders
and adults in charge should see that people in a meeting
leave for their homes immediately after the meeting is closed.
School
facilities are available to the community for education,
civic, cultural, and other noncommercial uses consistent
with the public interest, when such use does not interfere
with the school program or school-sponsored activities. Use
of school facilities for school purposes has precedence over
all other uses. Persons on school premises must abide by
the District's conduct rules at all times.
Student and school-related organizations shall be granted
the use of school facilities at no cost. Other organizations
granted the use of the facility shall pay fees and costs.
Use
of school facilities requires the Board's approval
and is subject to the procedures.
The Board shall approve and schedule the various uses of
the school facilities. Requests for use of the school facilities
must be submitted to the Board in advance of the event.
The Board of Trustees will have all buildings and properties
adequately covered by insurance, guided by the advice of
their agent.
