DISCLOSING
DIRECTORY INFORMATION
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) gives
public schools the right to disclose directory information.
Board policy designates these items as directory information:
Name of student
Parents'/guardians' names and addresses
Student's address, phone number (if not unlisted)
Date of birth and place
Grade level
Information in relation to school-sponsored activities, organizations
and athletics
Achievement/awards/honors
Student's photograph
Period of attendance in school
School attended before Morin Elementary School
If a parent does not wish to have any of this above information
disclosed, Morin School must be notified in writing.
The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of
Education, concerning alleged failures by the District to
comply with the requirements of FERPA.
