MORIN SCHOOL GUIDELINES FOR BUS RIDING

  1. Students are to be at the bus stop at the scheduled time.
  2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
  3. Keep all body parts and all objects inside the bus and remain seated
    while the bus is in motion.
  4. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  5. Refrain from yelling, using profanity and obscene gestures.
  6. Food, drinks and harmful substances or objects are not allowed on the bus.
  7. Students will be respectful to property and others.
  8. Parents are NOT to stop behind the bus and have their child run up to
    the bus.
    A) A child must be at an authorized bus stop to be picked up.
    B) Violation of this rule will be an AUTOMATIC (3) three-day loss
    of riding privileges.

Drivers are authorized to take the following disciplinary actions:
    • Give verbal warning.
    • Make reassignment of seat.

IF WARNINGS DO NOT STOP THE BEHAVIOR, THEN THE DRIVER WILL ISSUE A WRITTEN CONDUCT REPORT.

First written conduct report- All written reports must be signed and returned the next day. The student will not be allowed on the bus until the reported is returned.

Second written conduct report- The student will lose riding privileges for an additional (3) three days.

Third written conduct report- The student will lose riding privileges for an additional (10) ten days.

Fourth written conduct report-The student will lose all district bus riding privileges for the remainder of the school year.

Under extremely unusual circumstances, riding privileges may be revoked immediately. Such circumstances may include those that endanger student lives, malicious damage to the bus, etc. In this instance the director of transportation, the bus driver, and the Lead teacher will act together to make the decision. Students will be billed for repairs if the bus has been damaged.

Bus discipline problems may also result in detention, or other consequences at the discretion of the Lead teacher.

OTHER TRANSPORTATION

Students are not to drive cars, motorcycles, motorbikes, scooters, or ride horses on the school grounds. Any student driving to or from school must secure permission from the trustees.

There is to be no riding of bicycles in the school area during school hours.
